I have always struggled to get hold of enough 1066 stuff. Conte did a bit and there were a few other figures available. I have now commissioned Regal Enterprises to produce a lot of figures for this famous battle. Including Saxon shield wall and the famous Red Dragon of Wessex standard. Come on K&C, WB and others - this would be a great range.

Great diorama! As to your request to make this into a new series, I'd speculate there wouldn't be enough demand. It was only one battle and the subsequent rebellions were quickly suppressed by Williams nobles and soldiers. I'd guess that the Wars of Scottish Independence or the Hundred Years' War would have much greater commercial appeal. Just speculation on my part.
Cheers,
Brendan

Red Dragon of Wessex eh? How about this one then??

( P.S - I made it myself from an old Britains casting, some brass rod and a piece of Coke Can for the Standard!:D ). If nobody makes 'em - DIY!{sm3} jb

Absolutely spot-on Gary! With you all the way for a Battle of Hastings series. ( Always wanted a Shield Wall! )
I have to say though, Brendan is probably right as to it's commercial viability.

Loved the photos!

There is a small British Company that produces Saxons with shields that could be made up into a shield wall.

Check out Whitetower Miniatures, run by Matthew Thair and his wife. You can get them painted or unpainted too.

Find them under Vikings and Saxons. Here's the link.

Thanks - I have some White Tower Mongols but will look out the Saxons. Regal in NZ are starting a large commission order now though - I will post pics when completed.

Love the close up style of these photos.

Would like to see more Anglo-Saxon/Norman ranges and also a Wars of the Roses range from one of the big industry players, but with both First legion and collectors showcase moving into the 100 years war over the last couple of years, not sure the medieval market is big enough to absorb more. Various crusades ranges out there also. Does anyone know if the 100 Years War ranges have been good sellers ?

Also wonder if a manufacturer is going to pick up on the success of the Vikings TV drama on history channel.... Classic Conte territory .......but alas nothing coming off that particular production line these days......

Regards
