Battle of Leipzig, Rrussians (1 Viewer)

Interesting find; I'm not aware of these being produced, wonder what the story is with them? They are priced to move, not sure on the scale as to when the newer sculpts came into production.

Those don't really even look like TGM figures to me, but again, very interesting find, good luck if you buy them, keep us posted..........

Hi George

I've had time to go back in the TG forum postings and find what I was looking for, though my memory was a bit off as the sculpt I was thinking off wasn't as a Prussian but a Hanoverian. But do look at post 1 in the thread and to me apart from a bit of British issue equipment and gaiters on the original sculpt they look very similar.

I wonder what's the story on these ones on ebay !
Were these some sort of prototype that didn't work out or what !?

Taking a closer look I see they do say they are 65mm, so the older larger size which doesn't fit in with the rest of my figures.

It sure is a mystery; looks like they were originally intended as Hanovarians, but the shako is different on these, not to mention the pants should be grey but are blue, I think these in fact are Prussians as they did have units that wore that type of shako and blue trousers.

65mm would not work however like you said..........................good find on your part regardless, sort of like those Cossacks Collectors Showcase did several years ago that were never sold through retailers.....................

I've spotted these Battle of Leipzig Napoleonic Prussians.
Does anyone know if they match up size wise with the older or newer Napoleonic releases as I only recall having seen a photo of one of these on this forum when it was still in the development stage ?
Steve

You are correct when you suggested that they are 'development stage' figures.

They are Prussian and Hanoverians that were being produced by Thomas Gunn, but were rejected before going into production because they didn't meet the standard required by Thomas.
I think that the production company in China or someone else 'acquired' the rejects and is now selling them on eBay and trying to make some $$$$$.

The Prussians are the 21st Regt and the Hanoverians are the Lunenburg Regt and were developed about 3 years ago, and when you compare them with the recent releases of the KLG Riflemen, you can see why they didn't make it onto the market.
