Did anyone else see the new figures in the image below, posted on the weekend with the latest figures and base for Battle of Leuthen ???

Leutpic3.jpg

There is a Prussian Officer leading his Grenadiers towards the gate.

Also 3 more Austrian Infantry on the walls, one with musket high, ready to aim, another loading with ramrod in his hand and the third one on-guard.

I suppose they will be coming out over the next few months, and I'd expect the Austrians to come in 4 packs, so a more economical way of building up the defenders.

Looking good :)

Yes, did notice these as well and they will be welcomed by SYW collectors. I seem to remember that John said he sculpted 8 Austrians for this series and will do some additional Prussians in march and firing poses.
Hopefully he will expand on this era to include personality figures, artillery, cavalry and more opponents for the Prussians. Hard to say though because he has so many other projects and we can't gauge the overall
popularity.

Actually John, I think I see a further new figure. It appears to be a kneeling version of the figure underneath the number 3 in your picture.

He is the 2nd kneeling figure from the right in the Corner Turret. ( in between two kneeling firing ).

The officer with the spontoon would be Lt. Möllendorf, who was a company officer at the time, and later rose to the rank of Field Marshall and governor of Berlin. I recall asking John about that figure and the others depicted in the painting, and he acknowledged that he would be included in a future release. It's great to see the new sets coming out, and getting an idea of the scope of the display.

Prost!

I was not planning on collecting this series, sticking mainly to Monongahela and Plains of Abraham, but those Wurzberg Infantry / Austrians look great.
