Battle of San Jacinto,
I have gone to this the last 3 years.
It's pretty cool and it's free, so, if you live close (La Porte, Texas), you might consider it.
The actual battle re-enactment has at least 500 people involved in it.
Info at bottom.
WHAT: San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Re-enactment. Highlights include living history camps, craft demonstrations and vendors reflecting Texas in the 19th century. There are musicians and entertainers, a children’s arts and crafts area, and the largest battle re-enactment in the state. Admission is free.
WHEN: From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Battle begins at 3 p.m. and features cannons, muskets, horses and pyrotechnics, and ends with the surrender of General Santa Anna, followed by the laying of wreaths to honor the sacrifices of both armies.
WHEN: San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. Take I-45 north to Beltway 8, Sam Houston Tollway. Take Beltway 8 east, and then north. Exit Highway 225 east, Texas Independence Highway, to La Porte. Exit Battleground Road and turn left. When the road divides into two roads, remain in the left lane, continue through the tall stone park gates, and turn right into the park. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for the re-enactment.
