With all the German armor having been produced for the Stalingrad line it would seem to me that some more Russian armor is needed!

What other tanks were at the Battle of Stalingrad besides the T-34/76? I believe there may have been some KV-1 there but I'm not certain. Was the T-34 the most used tank there? If there were any other tanks were there enough to make a difference?

I have all 4 T-34's produced by FL and they are by far the best on the market! I'm hoping we get to see some KV-1 or KV-2 tanks.

The T-34 was the most used tank everywhere. There were a few KV-1 in that sector but the other major models would have been the T-60 and T-70 light tanks. I'm not aware of any KV-2 in the area but it would be logical to produce if First Legion were to make the KV-1.

I haven't validated the sources of the following data but it gives you the idea of the composition of Soviet tank brigades during this period.

Thanks for the information Frank. I was hoping you would reply. If anyone knows about this subject it would be you. :salute::

On the road right now, but iirc, there were exactly 14 KV-1 tanks in the battle. Most fought & were lost in the early battles south of the Tsaritsa. None were ferried over because of the weight. The 14 were remnants of the Kalach pincer battle a few weeks earlier. T-34, the lights, those few KV, that's about it. But outside the city for forces trying to relieve Chuikov, you expand to lend lease and a unique rocket T-60/70

It was the 133rd Tank Brigade. On 11SEP42, it had 14 mobile KV, 8 immobile KV. This is a quote from a Russian translator: "On 10SEP-15SEP 1942 6 KV tanks under the command of the chief of staff of the brigade operated in the elevator area, and 11 KV tanks under the command of one of the commanders of the battalion operated in the center of the city. In a few days the 4 remaining KV tanks were attached to the 13th Guard Infantry Division."

But one thing I overlooked before is this:

"On 01OCT there were 12 regiments RS (rocket system) (including M-13 x 8 units & M-8 x 4 units). Most of the firing positions of 'Katyushas' (M-13) were located on the left (East?) bank of the Volga. Light tanks equipped with M-8 operated in the city. All observation points of the regiment & division were also there."

So the funky T-60/70 Calliope type tanks were definitely in the city, as well as some M-13 units.

Other vehicles in the city would be the BA10 & 20 armored cars, & trucks with the quad mounted Maxim machine gun AA mounts
