Does anyone know where to get a CD of battle sounds for WWII and Civil War/Napoleonic periods? I was thinking of the scene near the end of the James Bond movie 'The Living Daylights' where the villian has battle soundeffects playing while he's playing wargames with a Civil War diorama.

Personally, I would suggest movie soundtracks. Find a good battle scene and listen to just the sounds without looking at the action on screen. Does it fit what you want? Are there extraneous sounds that don't fit? Use an audio output from your VCR or DVD player and make a tape or CD.

Another option is to visit a battle reenactment (we are getting into reenactment season) and try to record the sounds.

Just a suggestions.

Hi Kurt
There are lots of sound effect cd's out there; I have one that has 50 tracks from small rifle fire to a U Boat diving..........just choose the sound that fits and place on repeat they are great.....and a lot of fun.....play the WWII Air Raid Siren when you are on the phone or the small battle sound effect to give the impression you are a war reporter.......how sad am I!
These cd's are available from most large cd stores, Virgin, HMV etc
When we launched the Fall of Berlin collection in London we had sound effects playing then......Rob, Easy and guy's might remember that?
Cheers
