I converted a few of the new Hat Bavarian infantry figures into an artillery crew. I hope to do some more at some point in the future, I,m hoping the command set comes out soon so I have a few more figures to chop up and rework. I might even try a few Bavarian cavalry figures conversions also? I still have to many infantry figures to finish painting first though.
Looks like Hat has slowed down on the 1/32 scale releases, I hope they still get around to doing artillery and cavalry figures????
Here are a few pics!

VERY cool! Is the officer with the telescope made from a firing figure?

Thanks Scott! Yes that was made from the firing figure pose and the arms were taken from a Italeri french artillery figure with a little 2 part putty work to fix the straps and add the pouch. The other figures have ram rods made from wire and putty and I scratch built the bucket also with wire and putty.
I also just picked up some of the new 7 years war Prussian figures and I plan on using the The grenadier helmets on my Hat Russian figures to make some Russian grenadiers. The 7 years figures come with 3 sets of hats for each figure and pop onto the heads so you have extra hats, Pretty cool idea!^&cool
I didn,t get a chance to take any pictures of these in the rough stages. I did get a chance to snap a pic before I painted them though. I had one more figure that didn,t make it in this time around, he was going to be a cannon mover but he,ll have to wait till the next round now?
I still have a few more artillery poses in mind for these guys and I hope to do a complete 6 cannon battery of Bavarian artillery in the future which will include my Frontline set so I need to do 4 more artillery crews.

Wonderful work there Fish! I had the same idea for the Wurttemberg figs to make gunners. Didn't get past thinking about it though!
Still stuck, working on 28mm, it's easier since anything you need is available. I see CTS has Prussian Cavalry from Timpo available. No Blucher figure{ which is GOOD!} just 6 troopers in 3 styles. $22.00 a set of six, free shipping over $50.00. Good fodder for conversion possibilities! I should get some as my 54mm Prussian cavalry is WEAK. One figure looks like he is wearing a longer LITkewa frock coat. Head is wrong but we have Prussian wrapped shako heads in abundance now. Just have to sacrifice some infantry!
Again, lots of possibilities for Landwher cavalry and Lancers.

That looks great! I always love to see your stuff- if only you could produce your Geurilleros, I would buy doubles!

Harold, We think way to much a like! I already made a few timpo cavalry figures with the heads chopped off and Hat prussian heads added and have also thought about doing the wurttemberg figures as artillery sets also.^&cool
I still have a table full of half painted Hat Napoleonic figures to finish first though. I have a bunch of the Wurttemberg jager just about finished with a few conversions on them also. I want to get them finished and start on some more Bavarian Infantry before I tackle my Wurttemberg infantry.
There are just to many figures to convert and paint and just not enough time.
I also still have those artillery conversions of your plastic Russians in the back ground just about done also but never got around to finishing them either. I just get started on a project and loose interest and keep moving onto another.:redface2:

If you look in the background in this photo you can see my Timpo/Hat Prussian Hussars in the ruff stages, there all painted up now. I,ll try and post a pic when I get a chance. I repostioned a few arms and gave them new heads because the Timpo ones are kinda lame.
I also took an old marx dead horse and reworked the saddle to look like a Hussar saddle with the lamb skin and dragons teeth with 2 part putty and cut up another and added Italeri horse parts to the marx horse messing around. I want to try and do a few dead/wounded Hussars also.

Those Russians in the front of the picture are Hat stock figures with grenadier plumes added and I also cut off the over sized ammo pouches and added new pouces cut from your blackcat figures.

Thanks Sandor! Maybe some day we,ll see a release of some spanish guerrillas in 1/32 scale? Till then there is always the knife.^&cool

It's alway grat to see you in a creative mod Tim and the results of it and as always my friend thanks for sharing the results with us............Joe

Here is a pic of the Timpo Prussian Hussars with new Hat heads all painted up. I also added a pic of the dead and wounded horses I,m working on, I still need to do some dead and wounded troopers to go with them. And a picture of all my Prussian hussars all together.
The others are Italeri french hussars converted into Prussians.

Great conversions, modeling skills and painting of your figures Tim. I enjoy following your work. Thanks for the pictures. John

Hi Tim, great conversions and ideas for the rest of us - you are very innovative.
I can relate to your comments about not having enough time... and yes there are so many hat figures to work on, although hat will not find them as popular as 1/72nd figures which does concern me if the 1/32nd new issues dry up.
Keep posting the photos - your workbench looks busier than mine.
Best Regards

Tim,

Do you recommend the Green stuff over other 2 part putties?

Tim,

Do you recommend the Green stuff over other 2 part putties?

Scott there are a few different green putties(yellow/blue turns green when mixed) I,m using the Kneadtite green putty right now because I,m getting a pretty good price on Ebay buying the bigger bulk rolls but I have tried a few other green putties and for the most part they are very close to work with. I still have a few other brands kicking around that I like because the texture is different and working time longer.
I still like Millput for certain things because it can get finer detail when worked with water and has a much longer working time but its very sticky and messy.
If I could only have just one putty though, I,d stick with a Green putty.
Tamyia has some 2 part putties also that work work very much like the greens that are different colors. I use to use those before I went to green Kneadtite. I was happy with the putty but the price was higher.

I,ve tried other also, I can,t think of the names right now but they all seamed to work a bit different and depending on what you were doing with them some were better on certain types of work. So that said I,d suggest giving a few different ones a try and see what works best for you. To someone looking for a putty to try and start with??? The green kneadtite would be a good starting point.

Thanks Dave! Lets hope those 1/32scale releases don,t dry up??? The figures in the photos are only part of my half finished painting projects I had to pack away a bunch of others off the table to make room.
I,m just finishing up my Wurtemberg jagers and I,ll post a few pics when I get a chance, I just have to look them over and touch up a few spots.
I did a few conversions using bodies from the line and grenadier figures and made a dead and wounded figure. The uniforms are pretty much the same. I swopped out heads on the line and grenadier figures also to double the poses and got those all assembled and based on washers and they,ll be headed for the painting table soon also. Now I need to convert some Wurtemberg artillery also????

How about you posting some of your painted hat figures?^&cool

Tim...your artillery crew conversions and your dead/wounded horses are great...you're very talented...

Thank you Tim, I've been using the two part for 30 years or more and lately I'm just not getting the good results that I see that you are, and also the 28mm Wargamers I see on the "net". Might be me, or is time for a change to the Green.
