“Mir kannst no’ a Woaßbier bringa”

Great choice of subject, Andanna! We don't see much about the Bavarians. First Legion's figures are very nice.

Bin gespannt!

Prost!

Unnecessary to say that I fault FL of not producing a Bavarian soldier in a typical fighting stance - with a "Weissbierglass" in his hands. Further, I trust you believe me when saying that I have an exquisite collection of Weissbierglaeser and Weissbier at home. Prost, Andreas

Thats a great Napoleon not one of fls is it? have i missed something?

I strongly believe that Matt is producing the best figures for the price. This figure of Napoleon is more than 2 1/2 times the price of FL's, but the position of FL's Napoleon did not fit my concept of certain mini-dioramas that I have in mind. I need Napoleon to be isolated for those.

As an example, the photo below: it is conceivable the Bavarian drummer boy (13 yrs old?) would address Napoleon.

An inconceivable notion if Napoleon were to "work" by looking through his spyglass resting on the shoulders of another soldier.

This Napoleon is by Aeroart.

Wolfgang is one of the first figures by FL and this thread is in part a retribution for Matt constantly apologizing for the quality of the first figures of FL. For their price, they are still a bargain.

I thought it was aeroart, i love that pose, it would fit in all dios, im not so keen on the spyglass pose. I used to collect aeroart but as good as they are, they imo have gone OTT price wise.I think we have to draw the line somewhere.I have an equally or nearly well painted mounted Napoleon which i paid a £85 for,The base is now dio friendly

This is really poignant. The grass mat worked well and tied the background in.

I agree with you mate and while they were the first, I think they are still rather nice. The thing is that the later FL releases just keep getting better, like the British and French Guards and stunning Russian cavalry. Cheers to you though for featuring the these front rankers, they deserve their time in the light as well.

Very clever! :D

Wolfgang seems to be saying "Here piggy piggy" while Felix appropriately has his axe brandished waiting for the right moment to strike!

Wolfgang gets a reminder.

P.P.S.: Memorial Day - my thoughts go out to those who put their lives on the line in order for us to enjoy our freedom.
