Bavarian jagers 1811 (1 Viewer)

I'm phasing out my AIP figures for Hat. These are nice. Good painting! I like the grass stuff on the bases. Are you coating them with something to prevent chipping?

I've seen others make the HaT bases bigger for more stability .
I'd try a neutral dusty color on the bases to blend in with roads and wintertime.

Hi Scott,
thanks - I dont coat them - I guess its because they will sit on a shelf in my hobby area and wont be touched again that often.
I tend to treat them with kid gloves, so they dont really chip or are at risk of it

That's what I'm concerned about with painting plastics. My TSSD figures life on shelves coated with Matt spray. My HaT figures get swept into bins but they beg to be painted.

Those look great . I have 24 test figures they sent me and I was going to use the fighting soldiers as Jagers also.Yours are splendid. I'll be getting more sets when available and at least 1 just for all the heads for making Gunners and Chev Leger cavalry.
I see the Prussian Landwher are nearing completion too!

My Prussian army is getting HUGE. 20 x 24 figure Battalions, 6 guns and crews, still weak on Cavalry but got some AIP 1854 British cav for conversions into Dragoons and Uhlans.

More Austrians coming as well.

Some Cavalry from Hat would be nice!

Dave Great Painting!:cool:Just gotta love all these sets that Hat are coming out with.
How the hell are you guys getting these figures before they come out???

I,m working on a bunch of Prussians right now trying to get them painted up for a new diorama I have planed but painting the amount of figures I want in it is just taking way to long.:(
I,ve chopped up a few into dead wounded and other poses also that I think are lacking in the Hat sets.
I have been after Hat also to do cavalry and artillery, but I think they need some dead/wounded figures also.

Great job Dave keep them coming!

Yea thats what i would like to know ....How do we get on that list.
Heck i even send the odd pic to there ETS page :(

Hi Guys
the nice chap at hat just sends them to me. Or rather his despatch staff have my name on a list of test shot painters.
It stems from a few years ago when he started mooting the idea of 1/32nd Napoleonic figures and he was looking for market research before committing to production.
I had quite a few emails with him offering my opinion and that of some wargamers (in 54mm) that I know. It was those wargamers who said that Confederation of the Rhine/German states were the most sought after and the least available in 54mm plastic.
Maybe you should email hat and ask to be placed on the samples mail-list and that you are involved with treefrogs forum.

I like the idea of using the heads for cavalry and artillery - will have to try some. I t would be great to see some of your figures once painted.
