It beggars belief mate it really does, apart from perhaps Himmler or Heydrich its difficult to magine a person who could cause more offence in a kids programme!{eek3}

This afternoons War film is ' The Way Ahead' , starring David Niven and a young John Laurie (Private Frazier of Dads Army fame). Tells the story of newly called up recruits in WW2 and their journey to become real Soldiers.

It's entirely possible, is it not, that one of the programs in the series was due for a re-run in its regular spot and one of the programmers or employees just picked out a program out of many that could be re-run and, unfortunately, picked out this one. Not being in this business, I don't know if they look to see what the particular episode is about before they re-run it.

Think your right Brad , the program was made in 2003 before all this come out but made laugh yesterday when it was on

Yes thats probably exactly what did happen Brad, but with everything that's happened at the BBC and the level of shock, outrage and lets be honest loathing of Jimmy Saville , it was the last thing they needed. As you say an honest mistake probably, but could not be worse timed if they'd tried!{eek3}
