Hi Arikko,

Yep, caught a bit of that recently late at night on one of the cable documentary channels - thought it was quite good.

If military themed reality shows like that catch your fancy, have you ever come across the various "Lad's Army" series of programmes from the UK? It's at least a year or two now since they last made a new series, but the basic premise involved modern day youths being put through 1950's style National Service basic training, with appropriate uniforms, weapons, housing, etc. to see how they could cope.

The results were very entertaining, to say the least! At least one or two did take to it very well as I recall though, and a couple even pledged to go on and join the services for real after the show. If you're interested, I'm sure repeats are still floating around out in cable-TV land somewhere!

Interesting lad; not all there perhaps but interesting none the less. Two questions struck me from browsing there:
1) Did anyone get the impression that life in the FFL was all high octane adventure from the Jean-Claude Van Damme’s film "Legionnaire"?
2) Is the FFL tougher than the SAS? ("So what color is the boathouse at Hereford")
