Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone out there has the answer to the question of scale for the Beau Geste Line. I am thinking of getting some and want to be sure of the scale before I drop the cash. Any help would be great here. Also how do they compare with Britians and Marlborough?

Thanks for the help

Dave

Dave,

Beau Geste scale is 54mm up to the eyes. Some Britains and Marlborough (not all) are a little shorter than that, but they tend to be thicker. I've seen some Durbar sets with the three lines mixed and they match. But it's a personal opinion, you should ask around to get a general view.

Take care,

Ana:)

Thanks for the information Ana,

I thought they were 54mm but I couldnt remember and I will get ready to order a few from you real soon. Take care.

Hello,
I have a really large Durbar collection consisting of Britians, Marlborough, Tradition, Alymer and several others. When I started getting Beau Geste Durbar sets, they fit in just fine with all my others. Don't hesitate to order them.

Hi NC Collector

Please post some photos of your collection if you aree able. I am especially interested in the Alymer sets you mention. We have a couple of Durbar Threads here so please check them out and join in the discussion.

Also welcome to the forum!

Hi NCcollector,

Welcome to the forum! As Dave mentioned, there are several of us here who collect the Durbar. You will be in good company.

I also encourage you to post some photos of your collection. Some of us never get our fill of seeing nice Durbar figures and sets. ;)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Guys

I've been in this store a long while back and they had a lot of really great sets from a lot of cool companies

I will have to give them a call and see if they have either of the sets I am looking for.

Thanks for the heads up

All the best

Dave

Hi Hawkeye,

I posted a picture here of a Beau Geste figure with a Britains and Marlborough figure. I think they will be fine but you might see a slight difference in size. Here is the photo again. Beau Geste is in the middle. The only Tropy figure I have is mounted so a comparison would not work.

All the best

Dave

Beau Geste is defininitely TRUE 54mm but the Hiriarts are far more compatible with the pre-1960s Britains. Unfortunately they are hard to find. The Beau Geste figures tend to be very detailed and well painted and are more realistically "full figured" than the standard marching and firing Britains. They would fit fairly well with Britains' sets such as the marching RN sailors and marching French Foreign Legion.

Next to the Dorsets and Marlboroughs, Beau Geste figures tend to look huge, because they are taller and fuller with a thicker base than the old style earlier figures........Michael

Hello, companions of dreams in common. Since in this one thread the scale treats and the subject of Beau Geste.... I propose plastic scale to you 1/32, of the Spanish mark: Pech Brothers... of years 1960-1970. Podeis to see in my website, sítio: Monigotes.
