Other than crime fiction my main genre when reading is Roman history, so I thought I would try a bit of Roman fiction and the first book I saw I bought. It was Ben Kane's Hunting The Eagles. I think I may have chosen poorly because it really has put me off reading anymore from this genre. It is so poorly written that I genuinely thought I may have accidentally picked this up from the children's section. It's unfathomable to me how this guy got a book deal.
Please tell me that Scarrow and Iggulden are better than this? I jolly well hope so.
