With the recent recovery vehicle announcement by Honour Bound for a BergePanther I was wondering if anyone can add input as to the numbers of these the Germans had in service and if they were produced more than the BergePanzer Tiger. Dragon Armor released the Tiger version in 1/72 last year and I would just like to know which was the most popular of the two German recovery vehicles. There seems to be lots of excitement by collectors on this forum for the upcoming release and I was just pondering why Honour Bound chose to do the Panther version. Please don't take this as a slant towards HB as I to would like to see the final product when its released myself. I believe its a good marketing move to test the waters on HB's account in issuing vehicles that no other companies have tried in these particular scales.
Like I said, just trying to further gain knowledge. My teachers always told me to learn one thing new each day of your life so your brain never grows tired or stagnent.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_tank Bergepanther (Recovery vehicle): 347 (1943 to 1945). This information is about to the bottom of the page under the heading PRODUCTION. At the very bottom of the page is a reference link to almost all of the German armour types.

I am finding wikepedia more and more helpful in answering a variety of questions.
