It's hard to remember? Can you post a list of the contenders? What plastic has been issued this year apart from TSSD Alamo? Did some of the CTS ones come out in 2013?

this one is difficult for 2013. Nothing really stood out for me

The Austin cowboys were "nice" although it seems the Clint Eastwood figure is missing part of the pistol ring around the trigger on the right hand firing (mismold?). By the way where are the cowboys riding on horses on the plains or into town?

The paragon figures still suffer from too small weapons and too small heads. Their Ft Apache looks nice though.

AIP is not even in the ballpark parking lot other than filling many gaps with lack luster sculpting.

Pegasus could have picked a better subject for me in lieu of the German Paratroopers, in upscaling their 1/72 WWII Russians, or French then following with the SS and German infantry. I think the Russians would fill a huge gap where we only have a few poses each in MPC, Marx, and Airfix. TSSD Russians are nice but too specialty oriented wih too few poses. Where are the Russian hordes?

I think the EF Greeks are a nice addition to add to the supersized 54mm Conte Spartans and TSSD Romans and Barbarians. Have not held them as I have not received mine yet.

Looking forward to the TSSD mounted Mexicans.

Although difficult to find and rather expensive that Russian Company, Engineer "something or other" does excellent figures. They would get my vote. Like someone posted there really wasn,t much out there. I applaud TSSD and Austin for doing new plastic but doing Alamo and cowboys , I really don,t see where that line of figures can go anywhere.
What happened to CTS, last year, 2012, they did 2 excellent sets of Germans, I thought they might be on a roll.

I,m with you, I,m not even sure what was even released this year? I bought a set of the TSSD new Alamo figures and they looked nice. Most of what else came out this year didn,t interest me.

Paragon 7th Cavalry Horse Holders. Not sure if the Scouts were this year or last.

BEST ALL AROUND SET: Ex. Force Greeks - 4 nicely sculpted sets.
BEST SCULPTING: Austin Miniatures Cowboys. Close 2nd Ex Force Greeks.
MOST NEEDED GAP FILLED: Not a huge Alamo fan but I guess TSSD Alamo.
MOST POSES: Ex Force Greeks
MOST FUN: Austin Cowboys. Lots of action and hats off to them for doing the Clint pose. As we see more plug-in heads like Conte, TSSD and Ex Force it would be great to see more celebrity heads for all our favorite WW2 movies and such.

Cant really ad anything myself as there was just nothing new this year in 54mm plastic that made me want to buy!
The only 54mm plastic I did buy was some Hat Prussian both Napoleonic and SYW....and also picked up some of Hat's older Punic War sets.
And some of the older Italeri sets.

I disagree about AIP. Their war of 1812 americans and 1900 Japs were well done and long overdue. I like Paragon, but the figures are almost hard plastic and a little too large to mix with Marx, Airfix and BMC. But they are good as stand alone with the apaches. HAT? Way too small but well done figures. Austin cowboys were good but some of the poses were a little awkward and the set has a high cost. EF really are expensive for the limited amount of poses, but look good. Finally, I was disappointed that CTS did nothing. Their civil war and world war 2 figures were the best they have done, really captured the old Marx look. Hoping they expand their line in 2014, preferably Civil War cavalry.
