Sorry it's taken so long to get pictures posted, been up to my eyeballs in calls, emails and orders since I returned from the show yesterday afternoon, plus I needed to sleep a bit after the 17 hour drive home............:wink2:.

Left Massachusetts on Monday around noon with the MMTS chief of security riding shotgun, which means he slept 99% of the way out and back....{sm4}.

Arrived in Ohio around 10;00pm, got a room there (nice place too, liked the chalk outlines in the carpeting) and headed out around 7:00am or so for Chicago, arrived around 2:00pm CST, humped my merchandise up to the room, started to set up around 4:00pm, went until midnight, was up again at 5:00am, here is the result............

Was really happy with the way the displays came together, please keep in mind these pictures are "pre Vulturing" and for those of you not familar with the term, come to the show sometime and I'll fill you in; needless to say, most of the retired K & C WWII and the two Honour Bound Shermans were gone around 1:00pm on Wednesday, about an hour after I opened.

These next pictures showcase the spectacular building David from TM Terrain made for me, it is stunning and was the hit of the show for me, many people inquired as to availability, so it made a great impression........

More room pictures, I have two connecting rooms; in some of these shots, you can see the do not touch signs that Wayne is so fond of..................a lot of good they did as I had another theft this year, wouldn't be Chicago without it...........

Here is a picture of a soon to be released Rommel staff car by a certain manufacturer, any guesses as to who?

Also, some of the new items from Collectors Showcase.......

Last batch of pictures; these are the actual Sunday show pictures of my tables.

After selling out of the room Wednesday through Saturday, I pack it all up, hump it downstairs and set it all up again. I started packing what was left of my stock around 4:00pm on Saturday, humped it all downstairs by 9:30 or so, started setting it up and stopped for bed around 12:30am, up at 4:30am to finish the job and greet the swarm of collectors around 10:00am.

The show was very, very good for me, thanks to each and every person who dropped some of their hard earned money with me, I greatly appreciate it, my chief of security would thank you all too, but he's sleeping right now..........................thanks again everyone, 360 or so days before I head back out to Chicago to do it all over again.........

Hi George,

thanks for posting some great photos, sounds like everyone had a great time, (hoping next year I can make it)

I do have a idea for you, maybe instead of the "please don't touch", you can use "Please don't steal"!!! I heard you got ripped off again!!! man, take my dinner/clothes but don't mess with a mans soldiers!!...Sammy

George, thanks for posting the pictures of your set-ups. I notice, that as you said, many items have been removed from the early pictures by the time your last pictures are taken. Congratulations on the sales. I notice that one of my favorite, old KC pieces, the ambush painted Panther, didn't make it through the show. Lucky collector, there. -- Al

Thanks Sammy, glad you like the pictures.

I already ordered some cameras for the rooms next year, we'll see how that works out. Some guy got caught stealing on Sunday, the police came and he was escorted out of the building, as he did the walk of shame past my tables, I grabbed him by the ankles, flipped him upside down and shook him, but the FL NOR 007 didn't fall out of his pants....................:mad:

Next year, tell your wife you're going out for a pack of cigarettes; by the time she realizes you don't smoke, you'll be halfway to Chicago..............{sm3}

Thanks Al, the Vulture swooped in and lightened my load in about an hour and a half or so on Wednesday, he got some of the cherry items I had there, including WS 23 Ambush, I love that tank.

I also had a winter WS 23 that another collector got, along with some early winter Germans, same collector scored those.......................

The gallon of milk always works, since I never know which brand to get:) I have already told her, it's going to be a small vacation next September, I really would like her to go, but I shall not miss another.

As far as the thieving packrat, glad to hear that at least they caught one, but I do give props to your thief as I got my first FL Para today..outstanding!!! he does have good taste:) seriously though, nothing worse then having your product stolen, I deal with it on a daily basis with my delicious steaks, of course they always go for my tenderloin fillets:mad: I guess if your gonna steal a steak might as well go for quality!!...Sammy

Stealing steaks, that's an interesting scenario, considering where they have to try to hide the steak in order to steal it, once they get caught, you're better off letting them keep the steak unless you have a pair of salad tongs available for extraction purposes...............

Hello George,

Thank you for sharing the pics and narrative ... the travel, set up and packing must be exhausting. Fortunately, the return process would have been faster and lighter.

I note that you used a number of different dio bases and mats. May I ask .. Re your post # 2, what make of diorama mats with the Nap, AWI and Acw display ?

I guess thats one of the perks of my job. I get to catch these thieving little jerks and toss them in the same cell with one of the local biker gang thugs thats coming off his nightly buzz ^&grin

Glad you like the pictures and the narrative, it's a lot of work, but worth it in the end, the better the display looks, the better the sales.

Those are actually 4' by 2' pieces of board that I flocked myself, I used a combination of several different flocking materials to create those, I have 4 of them and use them mainly at this show, they fit perfectly on the beds.............

George, hats off to you handling all of the set up for 2 display rooms. That was a good bit of work to make it happen. Thanks for sharing your pics with us. {bravo}}

Is that a collectors Showcase Rommel staff car. ???

Thanks for the photos George, you made some great looking displays after all that time and effort. ^&cool

Just one question - If the displays are set up on the beds where do you sleep? ^&grin

Jeff :salute::

Onya George for all of the pic's and im glad you made a killing (sales i mean) at the show. If i do make it next year i'll give you a hand held vacuum cleaner so you can remove all those chalk outlines in the hotel room!!!^&grin

Tom

George,
Great display and good to hear you had a good show as after all the time and effort you certainly deserve it.

Have to agree that TM building is a great centrepiece. Fun to look at your displays and spot the different brands and watch out for the retired items.

Whilst any theft is not good if you only had one figure taken then I would say you have done well considering your figures are so accesable and the number of people going through your room.

Thanks for posting the photos.

Regards
Brett

Thanks Wayne; not Collectors Showcase, good guess though.

It's a company that hasn't done vehicles before, it looks nice to me.....

Thanks Jeff; I have a third room for my father to sleep in, I move stuff off of one of the beds in my second room, mostly boxed sets, not bad......
