This is finally on NETFLIX. I went to see the movie when it can out back in the 1980s with reenactor friends. Very sexy and great scenery. Lots of "authentic" dirt, heaving busoms, legs, and 19th Century arm pit hair. Really good film for people that say they don't like Opera. BIG cast of extras plus cigarette factory women in 1800s lingerie, gypsies, Spanish cavalry and an uncensored bull fight.

"...In 19th-century Seville, tempestuous gypsy Carmen (Julia Migenes-Johnson) seduces army corporal Don José (Placido Domingo). The corporal forsakes his military career, his fiancée and even his ailing mother to win the beauty's heart -- but she shuns his advances in favor of a bullfighter (Ruggero Raimondi). Carmen looks a little like Rhea Perlman's pretty cousin.

Yes really very hot and spicy. Old beauties did have great dressing sense. Even now these pics will make you mad {sm4}{sm4}

Thanks for the heads up. I saw it on VHS several times many years ago. Your reminding me of it made me search for a few clips on You Tube. Its a very well done movie.
