I just received the Black Hawk mounted Templar, Gerard de Ridefort. It is a very dramatic "take notice" mounted figure. I had previously received my first Black Hawk standing figure, Hugh of Payns. Here are my impressions of the two figures. First, the size of the figures fits well with my King & Country Crusades figures. Gerard's horse is the same size as my King & Country horses and the horse for my Conte Magnus the Mighty from the Viking Raid series. It looks right with the other horses. The sculpting is excellent and very, very detailed. The chain mail on Gerard is incredibly realistic and detailed in most areas, but clumps up a bit in some areas of the legs. The painting is generally detailed and vert realistic (more weathered, etc. and less bright and shiny than K&C figures) but the paint goes out of the lines a bit in some areas. The red crosses on Gerard are a bit rough, for example and not as smooth-edged and perfect as the way King & Country does the same sort of thing. They are simply painted on by hand. In general the pieces are really quite nice and I'll definately order more of them.
