OK, I shut down the card game (against army regulations) and made space for the Blacksmith. Blacksmith arrival is estimated at 41 days from now!!!

Have the forge..........but as you can see a dire need for a blacksmith. JJ timing couldn't of been better.

Forge from an old Marx playset from the late 50's early 60's. Plastic, painted up with artist oils over acrylic undercoat. See these all the time at shows in the 2 for a dollar box of Marx oddments. I have a Marx anvil mounted on a stump..will find and paint up as well. Not that I wouldn't want to see JJ produce these items in the future, but for now play the roll quite nice.

Side note: The more I look at this, I wonder if I could put one of those "fire" leds I picked up at the train show in the coals under the hood.....UMMMMM, (just what I need another project)

Looks very nice Walt, and I like the idea of the led, will certainly add some dimension to the dio.

Walt...

I picked up that anvil stump a year ago after the San Antonio show...

it paints up nice...

we all know I can't paint...and mine turned out okay...yours should look awesome...

your forge looks great...

Nothing wrong with that painted anvil mike. They get darker with age but the working surfaces are usually lighter. A bucket nearby, a fuel supply and a few tools and you're good to go. I'm not sure if the hand crank forge as opposed to the bellows is "period."
