Frederic Villiers a "Special Artist" for the Illustrated London News comes under fire in South Africa in 1900 during the Boer War. Mistaken as a Boer by members of the Suffolk Regiment on picket duty, he frantically waves them off. During the Anglo-Sudan Villiers had served as an artist-correpondent for The Graphic.
