It' s not really historical, but military yes. I feel that the coalition led by the US in one year has done very little or nothing, just " bombing the desert". It' s clear that a war can' t be won only by the air forces but it also needs an earth invasion by the infantry and the armour forces. Now, Putin has started the bombings, but the US seem not to share any information about ISIS with Russia....
My personal opinion is that only by the air attacks the situation will not have big changes, but I have much more confidence in the russian bombings than in the american ones, I don' t know why...
