Does anyone use or would consider using bonsai trees in terrain?

I unintentionally came across some on google and thought they would like really nice in a display and you cannot beat the realism!!

I have often thought of using them. The only problems are:_

Finding a suitable way to disguise the pot.

Cost usuaslly "large" enough specimens are costly.

Finding the correct type of tree as usually although the tree is small the leaves are not so look out of scale. (Junipers are a pretty good bet though)

Lighting/ caring for them......especially if keeping them in a case

Hmm it sounds like the hassle of keeping them far out weighs the realistic look.

I think I will stick with my JG Miniatures! :D

And probably a lot cheaper too! My wife has quite a collection of these little stunted trees  and to think what I could have spent on soldiers instead

I think the care and feeding of a live plant outweighs any advantage of looks that it brings.

And JG Miniatures-heck, I'll stick with my dollar store and post-Christmas sales trees :D

Prost!

No thinning of the mini forest for you next display?? Surely your wife won't miss a tree or 5...

Not sure if the humidity produced by the living plants would be very good for the metal soldiers. At least with old toy soldiers I believe high humidity can bring on lead rot.
