I,m currently reading "A Rumor of War", by Phillip Caputo.
Best book on VietNam I have ever read. It actually makes you feel as if you are there.
It caused me to watch last night "Platoon", forgot how really good that movie is.

If you read one book on Vietnam make it Caputo's " A rumor of war"
I think it is better than Chickenhawk or Despatches.

A Rumor of War is a good book. I have three favorites :
A BRIGHT SHINING LIE-John Paul Vann and America in Vietnam by Neil
Sheehan-1988
The other two books are by the same author on the early 1950,s Vietnam.
THE SEIGE OF DIEN BIEN PHU by Bernard B. Fall 1967>Hell in a very small
place.
Street WITHOUT JOY 1961-63-64.
Both John Paul Vann and Bernard Fall the author of the early two books were
killed in Vietnam. Leadmen
