Hey all:

Booked a flight this Saturday in Monterey California on a B-17 bomber. Its a bit pricey but its tax deductible. I'll take some pictures. If anybody would like me to post them let me know. For more information here is the website:

Looks awesome, but $425 for a half hour seems a bit steep. Still, if it were in my backyard, I'm sure I would do it too.

$425 sounds about right from my experience. Here in Pa, at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum, they charge $200 for 20-25 minutes in a Texan or Kaydet Naval training planes from WW2. A jaunt in a bomber would no doubt be pretty expensive but I would think most defiantely worth it- plus, I am sure some of the premium is the charitable premuim as well.

That should be a once in a lifetime event- look forward to hearing about it.

Here in Australia, they are charging $1400 for 20 mins in a Mustang!! I know its a Mustang but $1400 for 20mins?? :(

Boy, that souds expensive for flights. The Kalamazoo Air Museum by me flies different planes. I don't know if prices went up but you could fly in a JU-52 tri-motor for 30 minutes for fifty bucks. Also flights with various wwll planes. Leadmen

Wow! That is reasonable! I would go up in a different plane every week at that price.

http://www.airzoo.org/ here is air museum. free flights for vets this summer. The museum also has a nice Guadacanal museum inside with dioramas, artifacts, pictures etc. Also a large display of plastic aircraft made by IPMS clubs. If near area it is worth a stop.

Leadman,

Thanks for the great links. If I get to Michigan I will definitely have to check out both these museums.

Both museums are the same admission price. One is a new addition museum that was built new. They have more interactive and space stuff for schools. I like the warbirds which mostly are in the older section. Located next to each other. Leadmen

Wow! Those shots were too cool for words! It must have been amazing to look out through the nose over the Norden Bombsight, or out the top turret past the twin 50's. Definitely worth every penny!

Chris,

Did you get any history about the B 17 you flew in.
