I wonder if many people on the forum also have a library of related history and figure books. I find books through the years that I bought is competing for shelf space. Almost ordered the Waterloo companion but got a whole shelf of Napoleonic books not counting Civil War, WWll, modelling and Osprey books. I really enjoy books but have to start scaling back some. Need room for more figures. "sucker for books". Leadmen

Same with me Leadmen. I have a large library with basically WWII books. I am most interested in that time period. I have no place to put them all and everytime I walk into Barnes & Noble I leave with something new:confused:

I am currently reading a terrific book "Red Star Rogue" by Ken Seweel & Clint Richmond. It is about the Russian sub K-129 that went rogue in March of 1968 and tried to launch a nuke at Pearl Harbor.
Very interesting and scary stuff.

Njja:eek:

Besides about ten books on toy figures, I too have shelves of history books on the Napoleonic Wars, WWII, Osprey, etc. My brother has over 200 books on the ACW.:)

Dozens of Ospreys, Funken Books, Blandford, Great Battle series, Art Books by Trioni, Rocco, WRG Armies and enemies of Rome ect,Weapons, ect , ect.
I like Hunting around Powells books in Portland{ when I can bring myself to go to Portland} as they are the largest retail book seller in the country and I sometimes find that old OOP treasure.
Leadmen, Get the Waterloo Companion. You cannot do any better on the subject in 1 volume.

I too have the issue with the books over the soldiers so I have had to divide the space as well as possible. I have an extensive collection of books on the genisis of the tank and its early impact on the battlefields of WWI Europe. I also have a lot of WWII covered to include some of the more obscure tank fights like the battles in Malyasia/Burma. I also have a lot of the really improtant combat commanders covered such as General's Patton Harmon, Abrams, J.F.C. Fuller O'Conner, Rommel, Guderian etc. So I have had to make a lot of compromise in what I display and what stays in the storage container. Of course I am also always looking for the next book which for me is fun since many of the titles I am looking for were only printed once or at most twice between the wars. Who knows maybe someday I'll actually have the space to display all of my books and Soldiers.

This is one area I save money, it,s called "The St. Louis County Library"
I too like Military books, but outside a few soft cover books on WW1 & WW2 uniforms, that,s about it.
But speaking of uniform books does any one else have those Europa Militaria books on uniforms, I think they are excellent.

Maybe we can use Shannon's Treefrog trailer for a library.Send books to Shannon for lending out. Leadmen

Hmmm, it IS just sitting out there in the cold all empty and forlorn...

I am sure you got "spare time" to run a library. Where's that obscure WWll book on Italian Army boots I wanted to read? Fubar- went to that store in Portland and in the middle of the military history books was a feminist group discussion going on-- they did not like me there reading books. Leadmen

I also have a ton of books and a lack of room for them but i always seem to find room for more. Mine are as you may have guessed napoleonic books of all kinds. I,ve got alot of osprey, histoire &collections, blandford, and other uniform books and alot others from that period about the various battles ect.. As far as napoleonic uniform books i,d have to say i like the funken (arms and uniforms) the napoleonic uniforms part#1and#2 the best for the amount of stuff covered in just 2 books. Its a must for anyone into painting and converting napoleonics. The blandfords are great also. The waterloo companion as i posted earlier is also one of the best books i,ve read on waterloo its also a must. On the waterloo subject I just picked up a copy of the movie waterloo on dvd in widescreen. I had a copy already but i think a movie like that needs to be seen in wide screen to get the full effect of the great battle scenes. This is a great movie for anyone who has not seen it. Back to books I like the military heritage magazine also and they stack up quick I can,t seem to throw away any of my magazines I,ve got tons of them from my guitar mags,to fishing mags, toy soilder mags. They pile up real fast.

What Wellington said, DVD? Waterloo? WHERE PLEASE?
VHS wore out. Have to settle for Russian version of War and Peace.
Found an old Copy of Bruce Cattons" THIS HALLOWED GROUND "last week remember it from Junior High Library. Has several 1/32 Dioramas in it that drove greatly inspired me when I was 12.

Think another junior high type Military history book illustrated with dioramas would fly?Since I have so many collections, the thought had crossed my mind.
