Well I think they are rather excellent! Gives a nice period feel to the displays.

Thanks for showing.

Great looking pictures!
really captures the mood in black and white.

Great pictures! I also like the black and white for some reason? must be that the pictures came out great because I,m not a big fan of the black and white photo thing.:cool:Nice job!

Hi Sotnik,

I am impressed with the crispness and the detail of the images in your photographs. Personally, I enjoy the black and white medium. Not only do I think your photos are terrific, I think your arrangement of the figures is outstanding! I shall look forward to more photographs from you!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Outstanding work. I also like the effect that black and white photography offers.

Very nice pictures, thanks for sharing them; what a slaughter that battle was, both armies hammered away at each other for 8 to 10 hours, 74,000 casualties, incredible and it was a tactical draw basically..............

Excellent photos! I like the B&W format; and your display is very well thought-out, as demonstrated by your photos. Thanks for posting.

The grainy black and white really works for me. I like this series of pictures. Nice backgrounds by the way. :)

Great shots Sotnik! I think Borodino is where Napoléon could have crushed the Russian forces for good using his reserves and won the Russian campaign outright before Winter and the Russian scorched earth strategy set his "Grande Armée" fate..

The battle was a bloody meat grinder, French Emperor stated that out of the 50 battles he had fought, it was at Borodino that "The greatest valour was displayed and the least success gained."

He did , even without reserve , russian army was too weak, exhausted and worn-out , Kutuzov had to retreat in order to save his leftover’s of army.
At the same time in all russians cities was regrouping and reforming of new Cossacks and infantry troops, in two days the Cossacks were evrywhere .
Napoleon won Borodino ,but lost the war

I didn't say that he didn't win the battle but using his reserves (Imperial Guard) he could have given the "coup de grace" to the Russian army under Kutuzov and destroyed it for good like he did in other battles in similar situation. Instead his hesitation to commit his reserves likely because he was far away from France and due to the fact that he didn't know that the Russian army was indeed on the brink of total collapse allowed its remnants to withdraw and preserve his combat ability and eventually recover since they could rebuild thanks to the huge Russian reservoir of people. You know the rest...

Excellent images. I too like the black and white. Like detailed pencil drawings.Thumbs up!
