Well, Putin plays up the old nationalism and Orthodox church. I correspond with a women that reenacts WW II, Napoleonic, and Crimean War and it looks like the Russians would reenact w/o being part of propaganda, same as we do in the States. Some photos show French officials as invited spectators at Borodino.

I like the masses of troops. While not battalion size there is a good variety of possibly company sized units that fit in the small scale venue.
