I just finnished this scratch built foam artillary battery and wanted to post a few photos of it and it turned into a full scale battle! I wanted to wait and add in more russains that I,m still painting and even more pre-painted russains on thier way in the mail from fubar but I,ll save the larger battle for another day till then enjoy the smaller skirmish, larger russain battle to follow with lots more russains, french infantry and a larger cavalry attack.

My 5 year old daughter helped in the building of the foam artillary battery, breaking sticks and glueing grass and dirt to the foam and it turned out to be a fun family project!

back to the battle, the russains continue to pound the french infantry and the russain skirishers are on there way to meet the french advance!!!

The bombardment of the french continues as a few russain jagers on the left flank of the battery take out some approaching french voltiguers. A second wave of russain grenadiers also leaves the battery to confront the approaching french.

This next wave of russain infantry sent out meets with some big trouble in the form of some french cuirassiers and is caught before they can form square and the french make it to the russian battery leaving many dead and wounded on there approach from the russain guns!!!

Fish!

Very very nice! I was glad to hear the daughter is helping out. I may have to get pointers if I ever decide to build a Durbar parade Field.

All the best

Dave

That is a great effort. I see you have K and C and Frontline figures together and they seem to mix quite well. That is good to know.
Well done

Once again Tim you've out done yourself and looks like you had a great time setting it up with your talented assitant. Question do you have a MICRO setting on your camera and if so do you use it and if not you may want to consider using it. It'll give you some great close up shots and it's the setting I use with the flash off. Thanks for setting it up quicker than you hand plan to and looking forward to others you have planned.........Joe (aka The Lt.)

A fantastic job Fish, I love your earthwork cannon defensive positions. It's great to hear you share your hobby with your daughter, the two of you make a great team. I love a good calvary charge, and you do them great. I can't wait to see the big battle, if this is a little one. Great Stuff, Mike.:) :)

That is an amazing display Tim. I'm glad that someone collects different armies than just British and French.
Are most of the Russians from Fubar's range of castings? I see that there are a few Jager, who makes these? Last question...How does Fubars Russians size up to K&C?

Well done and thanks for sharing your wonderful collection.

Thanks guys!!! I love to do set-ups like this and wish I had more room to do more of these and had the time to set them up because I can only do these when my old lady has to work on the weekend and the kids are at their grandmothers so I can take over the living room for the night to set it all up.

I wish I had a big battle table like fubar so I could take my time and do a better job and hide all the figures bases and make the scenics look a lot better and more realistic and break up that green roll matt look and make it look more natural but this would take to munch time that I don,t have.

To answer your question, Yes these are mostly all fubars russains castings that I painted up with some tradition castings mixed in that I picked up on ebay already painted to a good standard on ebay and there are some conversions in there that I did from fubars castings. I believe those jagers are also by tradition and the one without the plum on his shako is one of fubars that I painted up as a jager. I just broke of the plum and dremeled of the extra flames on the shako and cartridge box because the triflame is for grenadiers. I have a few more ready for painting up as jagers but just have them primed so far.

Fubars russains are 1/32 and would go well with britains and frontline but would look a bit small when placed with K&C but If you place them right in a bigger diorama you could get away with mixing them together. I plan on doing this in the future if I get a chance to do the larger battle I have planed.

You should pick up some of these from fubars ebay site he has them for sale already painted now and they are a really great deal and are painted to a great standard. He also has them with the pavlov mitre heads also. I just ordered a bunch of these pre painted and I,m also painting another batch of his casting with the pavlov heads also.

I want to flock the bases of all my russains for the next diorama because I like the way the bases on those tradition castings blended in to the base.

Really very impressive- that must have taken quite a bit of time to setup. The one thing pictures cannot convey, unfortunately, is the size or magnitude of the dio and I have to imagine that seeing this collection in person would be quite an experience.

Spectacular to say the least but what makes it for me is that your daughter got involved. That is neat.

Tim: The pictures and set-ups of the artillery scenes are great. Nice family project. Good work. Leadmen

Tim,
Outstanding; Fubar is the man when it comes to Napoleonic displays, but you are gaining ground along the outside rail, trust me on that. Great to see you having FUN with your hobby, which is the way it should be............
