Just got the USMC jeep recently and is nice. Wanted to make a scene with Pappy and the VMF-214 sign. For all the rivet counters out there I know the Corsair in the background is not from VMF-214, but I don't have the K&C Boyington Corsair so had to use a substitution of this old 21st C. 1/32 model.

I am glad I am not saddled with being a rivet counter, the scene looks perfect to me. Robin.

Thanks for that Robin. Sometimes I do like to keep things historically accurate as far as items in a scene, but for me is not always absolutely necessary and sometimes you just have to use what you have.

Here is another:

Hi Duke,

I think you did a really nice job on this picture and I esp. like the collection by K&C. I also missed out on K&C's USMC Corsair and been looking for one. I am hoping that Andy re-releases a variation from another of the VMF-214 squadron. It won't be the "Lucybelle", but I think it would make a fine addition for those that might want to pick up a second airplane as well as one for those of us who missed out on #86. I had considered the Navy version but just couldn't bring myself to it as it's the Blacksheep Squadron I'm after.

As an old collector of 21st Century, I think your 1/32 version works pretty well in the dio. I had the USMC jeep but only recently picked up the tent myself. Great stuff for fans of the Pacific and I truly regret not purchasing the plane when available.

I've looked at K&C's "Somewhere in the South Pacific" dio/image for well over a year now admiring each piece and the overall scene.

It was great to see you create a Boyington dio. Well done!

Thanks Rob and thanks for showing the K&C VMF-214 dio with their "86" Corsair. I've also admired this scene since they first posted it. I have a couple of 21st C. Corsairs but this "108" had a similar color pattern to K&C's so chose it for this display.

I really enjoy your dios especially those of the Pacific theater. You do great work and have a nice collection.
