looks like C.S. has come up with another homerun on this batch of releases!!! I really like the new line of soldiers as well as the winter stug, keep up the great work Brian......Sammy

Looks like more great figures and a nice Stug. But those are the wrong US uniforms for Market Garden. Should be Green M43's.

I am going to check my references at home, BUT there was one Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 82nd that did use the M1942 jump uniform in Market Garden.

Re: US Airborne uniforms...

I did a little reviewing of some of my reference sites. The 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment had been detached from the 82nd Airborne Division and had been in Italy. In the summer of 1944 they moved to England and rejoined the parent organization. This regiment still used the M1942 jump suit (the "Normandy uniform") while the rest of the 82nd, like the 101st had been issued the M1943 uniforms (dark green infantry uniforms, often modified by unit riggers to have the large pockets, etc). The 504th was the last full unit to wear the M1942 suit into combat in Europe.

So, CS may not be that far off! The 504th was one of the outfits that assaulted the Nijmegen bridge. One of the 504th's battalion's was the unit that crossed the Waal in British canvas assault boats.

Bottom line - some nice looking paratroopers that are dressed for Normandy or for one unit in Market-Garden.

PS - CS can forward some free figures via Treefrog!

Exactly what I was thinking, they can do double duty for St. Mere Eglise or the La Fiere Causeway. Now what I'd really love to see are some figures from the Waal river crossing -- say MAJ Cook and several trropers climbing out of the beached assault boat.

A winter StuG ? It's like Christmas in September. The CS winter Tiger is great, the winter StuG will be most welcomed.

Isn't that SS machine gunner firing an FG42? I thought those were only issued to FJ's? I'm asking because I've never seen a photo or read about german ground forces using them.

Could be a battlefield pickup. ;)

This is a late version depicted (bottom).

Well spotted & your right only given to German paratroopers

That's really well spoted mate. Also if you look on the base of the figure there's a helmet on the ground. It looks like it could be a FJ helmet which would fit in with the battlefield pickup theory.
