Wins for Best lead actor in a dramatic series, supporting actor, supporting actress and series.

Wow.

Bummed that True Detective and Fargo didn't win a lot of awards.

Also odd that The Walking Dead had no nominations, what gives?

Did a great show like the Vikings even get a mention?

I quite liked Breaking Bad but I really thought True Detective and Fargo the better shows. I feel the BB award avalanche was almost a PC kind of thing since it's run had ended and no one wanted to vote against the popular favorite. To me, the acting in True Detective buried BB. -- Al

It does seem like the fix is in on these awards..Michael

No, of course not. In order to be even nominated the storyline
must be about some kind of dysfunctional theme, together with the actors
role or private lives. "See, we really are normal. All you people in Middle
America lead lives of quiet desperation."

Of all the nominations I only watched Downton Abbey and Sherlock. Didn't
watch or care about the Emmys either. Luckily, the Neilson ratings carry more weight
than the Emmys. Some of the worst get cancelled or there would be more nominations
and hoopla.

Not sure why True Detective was in the same category with Breaking Bad; True Detective, like Fargo, was a mini series and should have been in the same category for both series and actor awards.

Breaking Bad IMO ranks right up there with some of the greatest dramatic series of all time, it was a brilliant show on so many levels.

And the ending was very good, nothing vague or open ended about it, that is for sure............

I saw "Breaking Bad" for the very first time this past June while back home for the passing of my mom. Since then I watched all 60 + episodes and wound up buying
seasons 1 thru 6 on DVD. The accolades are well deserved........IMO.

Missed Breaking Bad when it origionally aired. I,m currently watching it on Netflix and I,m halfway thru season 4, so please don,t give away any details.
It,s a very enjoyable show, but a while back I asked if it was comparable to The Sopranos (my all time favorite) From what I,ve watched my answer would be no.
The reason being I would have no desire to watch this again and again. Same with True Detective. Fargo I could watch again. Sopranos, about every 18 months I will do a Sopranos marathon. I think I have watched the complete series at least 5 times and every time is as good as the last.

I watched True Detective three times, picked up on something new each time; the I watch it, the better it gets. Both actors did a superb job with their roles.

Fargo I could watch over and over, much like the Sopranos.

Breaking Bad is tedious at times, the whole Walt/Skyler dynamic gets a bit maddening, am surprised she won an Emmy for best supporting actress in a drama series, I thought she was annoying more than good.

My two favorite characters were Hank and Saul...................

Have to agree Al True Detective was brilliant ^&cool

We recently started watching Breaking Bad and are halfway through the last season and it is one fine series.

If given the choice to watch this show again vs Sooranos, hands down it would be Breaking Bad. The acting, in my opinion, is superior.

Brad...

Breaking Bad was a great series...no argument there...someday...I intend to watch it again...

I re-watched all the Soprano's season series a while back...
they are much more enjoyable watching in some form of fast continuing format as opposed to stretching out in 1 hour increments over 6 years..

some of the characters in Sopranos were extremely complex...

I never liked the closing episode...and usually never do when the producer "leaves it up to the viewer" to interpret his own ending...

I prefer some closure...

this is why I didn't like Birdman...when his daughter looked down to the cement...then up to the sky and smiled...

what the heck did that mean?????...........^&confuse

To me, Sopranos was just actors playing mobster roles, which is not all that original. Yes, some of the story lines were unusual and different but it's not like the way they played the characters was unusual.

Breaking Bad is a fantastic series because you see the main character as each episode progresses turning from a nice guy to a very evil person. Perhaps in the right circumstances that could happen to any of us. I don't see that in the Soprano series. They're scum from the get go.

Just my opinion.

I loved both series...and just my opinion...I prefered Sopranos...the characters...even though it's just another "mobster movie" had complex personalities...Uncle June...Tony...Tony's sister...everyone had a psyche that bordered on twisted or insecure...but i have always been a gangster movie aficionado...not gonna debate which is better...as it's completely subjective...both were great...both highly acclaimed in their own regards...you really can't go wrong with either...

and the first time I get bored with regular programming...I'm going to "On Demand" and re-watch Breaking Bad again...^&grin

Liked both The Sopranos & Breaking Bad, both excellent TV. But in my mind The Sopranos win hands down. I,ved watched that entire series I know 5 times, once was enough for Breaking Bad. While we are on criminals. Watched Goodfellows for about the 20th time the other night. If it were't for Saving Pvt. Ryan, Goodfellows would be my all time favorite movie.
