I found this 1/32 scale plastic sheet at the HOBBY BUNKER of a fire station but I really wanted an 1860s store. It sort of works.
I can't remember the name of the company that makes the building fronts and it was the only one the HB had. (and it was on sale!)

The piece was added onto a minimally detailed Styrofoam building to be set among other buildings.

As I've advised before...think these projects out. I do them as time and mood hit me, AND with what materials I have on hand, so they are rough to my eye, but make fun backdrops for miniatures. More like "folk art" than scale models.

I went on GOOGLE and BING maps for satellite views of known buildings like this to see where the chimney and roof hatch might be...

Excellent work Scott! I love the grey you used to weather the boards, what shade did you use? The scribed lines make the project, I am getting sore fingers but the barn I am working on looks 1000 times better with the engraved lines!

I just used a generic gray acrylic. I also painted in the lines suggesting the mortal between the brick on the back of the building. Next time I'll use something 3-D. The details on your barns are giving me a few ideas. Thanks.

Excellent work, Scott. Just shows what a little imagination and time can produce!

I was watching The Brother Grimm on DVD the other night and I'd like to do a street like the Goth-y German town in the first part of the movie. That would be good from Knights to Nazis!
