I remember reading Hans Rudel on the Russians attempt to trick his pilots into believing that their tanks had been already knocked out by using smoke. Rudel made the point that this was easy to see through as a destroyed tank 'burns very brightly'. This popped into my head last night when I was watching footage of the class between Armenia and Azerbajan. There was an APC which had two very vivid flame points roaring out (I shudder to think of what happened to the crew) and strangely, Rudel's comments popped straight into my head. I reckon I read them almost 40 years ago!
