Today was the first of the two day Brisbane Model Train Show and following are the two displays we put on exhibition along with The Military Workshop in order to introduce our hobby to others.

Posting the photos on behalf of all those involved and I believe they will add additional photos

Apologies for the poor order but taking them from mobile phone

Nothing wrong with the pics Mark. Oh for a dollar for every shot that was taken today. Great roll up and lots of interest. The only static display at a model railway show but the enquiry assures that there is definitely interest from amongst the train enthusiasts. When the topic of crossover interest is raised, all sorts of people roll up. We had a number of wargamers, hobby photographers, ex soldiers, bus drivers, motorbike riders, and even a couple of sword fighting martial artists. There were invitations to display at other shows, one of them in Melbourne, which is a long, long drive. And still another day to go.

The first day of the Train Show was, just judging from the interest shown in and the amount of pictures taken of our two dioramas, a success. Tomorrow hopefully will see more people come by and have a look, the whole idea of course is to increase interest in our hobby. I took a few pictures of which most didn't come out well enough to post! but here are some that did, Mark has a better phone :wink2:

The chain tie downs were a last minute add on but a simple piece that created interest. "Have you tied those tanks to the flatcars?" (Said accusingly as though we were desecrating a perfectly good flat car). But explaining that they were just loose pieces of jewellers chain enabled engagement about the simplicity that can lead to excellence in diorama production. Sharing is fun!
