BRITAINS 1950s SETS STAPLES (1 Viewer)

Yo Troopers, anyone any idea where you can get the right size staples Britains used in the 1950s. I make them between the leg measurements 5/8" or 16mm. I remember Dickbuttons saying he had a lot of trouble trying to get the right size. Anyway just tied my first set of Old Britains in the box, thought it would be quite difficult but once you know how its done and you have the right cotton, plus a smart old gadget called a Bodkin, it only took ten minutes tops. So thats made my day lol, God Bless us it doesn't take much to please this Trooper YO MOUNT UP.

Bernard -- I searched high and low and could never find the right size staples here in the US. Maybe you will have better luck over on your side of the pond.

Bernard -- as stated, I could never find the right size staples in any hardware store, and I wasn't about to ask some manufacturer to make a box for me (too costly). But I did find a way of making the staples on my own. It's not to hard, once you get the knack of it. Let me know if you want me to email you with the details.

Yo Dick, that idea of yours for the staples works a treat, made four this morning in 10 minutes and stapled in two sets. Man there are some brains on this site guys. JUST LOVE IT.
