Yo Troopers, Just added this to my collection. I did have a Minichamps on order but he didn't know how long the delivery would be lucky for me. Found this on the Web yesterday its an item I have always wanted seeing as I served in one in the QOH, and you dont see many come up for sale. Has all its original paint classed as excellent and the box which he puts down as good. This one shown is not mine just borrowed the photo from the Web for reference. The Tank measures 9" x 4".

Bernard,

I don't wish to rain on your parade, so to speak, ........but the paint work doesn't look very "British Army Deep Bronze Green" to me, so if you want I can give it a lick of the old distemper brush next time I have a vat of green open! :D :D

Here to help

Yo Jeff, here is a shot of a Chieftain being restored for the Buckingham railway Centre. Dick Mather one of my old Buddies from the QOH sent these photo's, he help out with the Restoration, dont know the guy standing next to the Chieftain. I Think its how the light catches it, as photo one it looks darker green, then in photo two looks more like Britains. But the old saying "shine & you Die" so maybe thats the answer.
Bernard.

DOH just had a look at Britains model again the Chieftain is defo darker dont you think. But there is only one expert on shades of green on this forum  so you tell me lol.

Hi Bernard,

Its a great looking model and the 1:1 rebuild is really cool! Of course it looks odd with out the Sponson Boxes on the turret but I must say they did a good job on the exterior. I wish that one of the builders of 54mm vehicles would do an M-1 Abrams not just the M1A1s we see so much of, I would really enjoy adding an M-1 to my collection. Maybe someone will do one someday

All the best

Dave
