Britains closing there UK ditribution centre (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys

Not sure If this has been on the Forum before and I missed it, But I have heard a rumor that Britain's are or have closed there UK distribution center.
Does anyone know how true this is ?

Bachmann Europe Plc is taking over the distribution of W. Britain in the UK and Europe and we will be closing our UK office. We had reached the point where we needed to take on another 2-3 staff or find a larger organization to handle the sales volume and growth we were doing. The tough decision was made to close the UK office and turn over the sales, marketing and distribution to Bachmann Europe. They have hired a W. Britain sales and brand manager - totally dedicated to us, and have an additional staff of about 50+ in the UK and another 12+ in Germany. I have spent the last two weeks here helping train them, seeing our customers and smoothing the way for the transition. I will here another week.

If you have any question please let me know, or you can still contact Sandra at our UK office, she will be there for another two months.

Richard, will Sandra be staying with WBritains or is she leaving? Also how will the club work now will we have to deal with the USA office or will Bachmann take over running the english side of it?

Craig - Sandra will around for another two months then she will be leaving. Bachmann will take over the UK/European side of the club as well. So will not have to go through the USA. We will be sending out letters shortly to club members. For now all stays same, any questions contact our UK office and Sandra. Late February/Early March club things will then transition over to Bachmann. Standard and new catalog will be out in early March. Standard a little delayed due to my time spent here. Once back in US will wrap it up and get her printed.

Thanks for the update Richard, ill be sad to see Sandra go she was always very helpful & always seemed to remember everyones name & what collections we were into when we spoke at shop events & the London show! She's always given me very good personal service which I can only hope will carry on with Bachmann.

I'm hopeing we still see them at the london shows! Let's hope that we see them in more uk shops over the coming years as well!!!

Have to add that Bachmann do a great job with their model railways. I have found them really helpful.

We will be at all the London shows. And also many more. This move was to increase our reach and business, not diminish it. Many of you know Craig - our WWI, Zulu War and Sudan Re-eneactor - he will be at the London shows with Bachmann folks. So there is continuity and a seasoned expert on hand. I will also be in attendance at some of them.
