Again, I am amazed at the glossiness (hopefully this is a word), of your vintage Britains! Wondering do you have the set 1555 or the 73, you can photograph? Thanks very much for sharing your photos.

No I do not have either of those sets.

thanks for your response. I am a collector of vintage Britains and really enjoy seeing your photos. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera, otherwise I would gladly share my sets with you. I have both sets - acquired several years back. Both are still tied in the box, which is nice -- but doesn't necessarily lend itself to go display photos.

Hey Dickbuttons! WOW!! 1555 and 73 those represent a major collection all to themselves, and given the value of the sets it would not make any sense to untie them for a dio. I too started with vintage Britains, mainly French Foreign Legion/Arabs, Western Cowboys/Indians/Rodeo/Prairie Schooners, Zoo. Is your collection mainly of British Regiments and boxed? Do you collect any of the above lines? I am involving my boys in my hobby of collecting and have switched emphasis to K&C and modern Britains. Are you a dealer as well?

No, sorry Boyer, I am not a dealer. Merely a collector. I collect only boxed sets, with primary emphasis on British regiments and bands. No, never really got into the Foreign Legion, Arabs or other native warriors. That's enough for now, I don't want to bore everyone with my collecting ups and downs.

My copy of the Royal horse artillery set (no. 39) still tied in the box.

Honestly , you guys are scary. Not playing with your toy soldiers and leaving them in the box!

I agree==but if you pay a premium to get them originally tied in the box -- then it is much to painful (and costly) to start cutting them out! I suppose the solution is not to buy them tied in the box.

Primarily I am teasing. But, when I see them in the box like that I want to be the first guy to play with them.
