Does anybody know if britains will be doing any new napoleonic sets? I really liked some of the earlier sets (north gate, scottland forever, prusains ect.)but they just stopped making anymore. Are there any plans for near future sets? I know conte has plans on doing a Keith Rocco Gates of hougoumont set (painted metal)with add on some time in the future which i,m looking forward to but, i,m not going to hold my breath waiting for that as they seem to take forever to come out (look at the wait for the mexicans). If anybody has any info please share it with us fellow napoleonic collectors. And if your looking for ideas for future napoleonics, how about a new hougomont south gate or a hougomont done in sections like contes alamo (an add on set). Hougomont was a big building complex (multi buildings, gardens, orchard, hedges, woods)and the focal point of the battle of waterloo and where the whole battle had started. maybe even conte could do there next plastic playset of hougomont in add on style like thare alamo??? Anybody else into napoleonics got any good ideas for some new stuff? please don,t be shy just post them! Nobodies going to bite your head off, unless of corse if you suggest making king and country in plastic!!!! then they might snap at you:D .

Hi,

They did several sets for their collectors club this past year. The series is called The Morning of Waterloo and it is really nice looking, however, you need to be a member of the club to get a chance at them. I suggest you consider joining the club to take advantage of it. The sets are based on an Infantry Square and have a mix of Infantry in various poses, 95th Rifles, Sappers and a command set with the colors. They also did a nice looking set of Wellington with a Rifles Officer sharing breakfast prior to the battle. It would be a really worthy addition to your collection if you are building a series of Waterloo displays. You should consider it.

Those sound very interesting. I too was unaware Britians had any Napoleonics other than their retired line.
Know where we might be able to find some images?

I,d like to see some pictures also. I,ve done all kinds of britains web searching typing collectors club, morning of waterloo limited edition ect.ect. and i haven,t found anything. Are they matt finish or gloss? hows the detail are they better or worst than the waterloo series? Are they still available does anybody know where you might purchase them?

Hi Again,

I will send an email to the club and see if they are still available. I think they are because they7 are listed on the website w/out pictures and since there was a buy out they maybe well behind on their specials. I am thinking of aquiring the set but it will be a major cash out put and I'm not ready to do that yet. If I can get the pictures or find them someshere I will let you know. By the way where in Mass do you live I'm from there but now live a long way from there still have a lot of family there though.

Dave

I,m down in southern end of mass. next to rhoad island but work mostly around boston. Have you ever been to the hobby bunker in boston? Its the best shop around the area(only shop around the area). They,ve got just about everything in there and are really nice guys. I try to stay out of there lately as i always leave broke. The only other one around the area that i know of is minute men (also a real nice guy) but no store just mail order and he also does a few shows and will do you a real good deal at them.

Hi again,

I grew up out west in Great Barrington, still have family there, no real hobby shops in the area but there is one shop that carries the Britains Line and has been good about not raising their prices when an item is retired so I have been able to get several of the Durbar sets there when no one else had any left. I expect he doesnt sell too many of that line when I am not in town. He does move a ton of ACW so I expect thats why he always has a good selection. I hope the info I sent earlier will help and not keep you in the dog house for spending too much. I would really consider joining the Britains Club if you want to get those sets because they are really difficult to find on the secondary market like ebay. If I hear more I will let you know.

Hi Dave:

The W. Britain Napoleonic range will begin in again the fall of 2006 and will pick up where we left off in 1999 with the North Gate - can not go into much detail, but needless to say there will be many nice vignettes and figures that can stand alone or be used in one heck of a diorama display.

Hi Richard,

That is fantastic news! I have already begun planning space in the collection.
