I will be posting from time to time examples from my BRITAINS toy soldier collection that I collected as a boy in the 1950s. I now only collect matte realistic figures such as K&C and John Jenkins but I thought the Britains vintage glossy collectors would enjoy seeing these classic "Red Box" soldiers. I also have examples from the Herald's Line that were matte finish.

Here is one of the Herald sets. I do not have any ID info on this one. Likely
Scots Guards band. These came on cards rather than red boxes.

Hello Polar Bear. That Mounties Set 1554 is one of the cleanest I've ever seen!
As for the Heralds Highlanders I believe them to be "Gordons"
Great pictures !
Thanks for the posting!!

I took good care of my toys (age about 11 or 12 at the time). I displayed them in a bookcase in my parent's living room and did not play with them.
Thanks for the Gordon tip. The Herald Brand figures can be fragile. I dropped one last year and it shattered. It is a strange kind of plastic material. it was a mounted horse guard that shattered.
