Gentle Friends,

The new Britains Zulu War line is generating much excitement and with good reason. The figures appear to be truly spectacular with creative and interesting poses. The accessories that will be available to enhance a collector's display are breathtaking. No doubt, the new line will be highly successful and will attract the attention of many new collectors.

Since I recently unpacked figures from my collection of the older line of Britains Rorke's Drift, I thought it might be a good time to take some pictures and allow people to view the line as it existed a few years in the past.

Below, you should find a picture of the Britains Rorke's Drift Diorama (with a number of figures added to the diorama). This set originally appeared in the 1998 W. Britains catalog as a Special Limited Edition set. A total of 2,000 numbered sets were made, each packed in a special presentation box. I hope you enjoy looking at pictures of these special toy soldiers produced in the past.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks Pat for posting them and I'm glad to see you getting settle into your new home and unpacking items from your toy soldier treasure chest. I'm adding one of the retirees who appears in your photos and taking him out of retirement to join Britains new Colour-Sergeant Bourne. I'm sure you along with others who've collect the set will be pleased to see how well they blend together. WBritain's giving us the best of both worlds. Take care my gentle friend......The Lt.

Hi Lt.,

Thanks for posting the picture. The figures do blend very well, don't they? Without a doubt, W. Britains is giving us the best of both worlds!

Happy Holidays to you, Joe!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Thanks for posting the pix. I wasn't collecting anything in 54mm when the Britians sets you posted were available. I like them though.I'd of course matte finish and rebase but thats just me. Collectability be D-----!
I'm keepin everything till I check out off this rock and you cant take it with you.
I'm pretty hot on ZULU lately and looking forward to the new Britains sets.
Just spent a piece of the kids inheritance on some Frontline sets including the VC big set hand to hand sets and one of the wagon and figure sets.

Will have my toyroom done { handmade cabinets come later} in time for a Rorkes drift Weekend late January with dvd of Zulu and Zulu dawn playin on the big screen, big table, spirits ect. Break in the place right!
I'll even have time to get some of those Hinchcliffe ZUlus painted!

Vamp, Most unlikely. I havent touched the 1/2 done sculpts and projects for Napoleonics since before OTSN.I think theres plenty of ZULU items already to keep me busy.

I'm hoping to collect enough new Britians 24th foot for a Platoon for THE SWORD AND THE FLAME wargame rules. 20 figs including 2 KEY figs, NCO's.

ZULU's you need 60 figs! I dont think I'll be able to afford 60 painted Metal ZULUs!!!

Hanging my big swinging BARN doors today with some help from my 82 year old dad. He helps me keep stuf level, plumb and true. I'll use the forklift to get them stood up and in place.
Place will be essentially finished, at least enough to start moving in!
A big stand for the 50" TV up in the corner is the next project, and I need to build one more 4 x 6'table section for my mega table. 6 x 16' total.
I'll be sure to post pix of the drift.
