Yo Troopers, I know, whats a Cavalry man doing with a Scots Band, you can blame Dickbuttons for showing me his #2109 & nshighlander for sending photo of his mass Scots Pipe Band. Just recieved this 20 piece Britains Pipe Band of the Royal Scots, English saying (GOBSMACKED) man it is AWESOME, if there was ever a better set produced than this I want to see it. YES Richard this is the same guy said he would never buy any modern Britains, well this has shut me up good style. The set contains a Drum Major, 12 Pipers, 4 side Drummers, two side Drummers in Bearskin with double Drum sticks, and a big Drummer in Bearskin. Dont know who painted these Richard but you have to see them close up to believe the superb painting. Also there is a Piper Major Playing painted in Gold, two coporals, two lance corporals. Set was issued 2005 only 1000 sets, this set is the star of the show guys, and I have most of the Cavalry and Hussars bands. ITS A MUST HAVE SET GUYS. All I can say is well done Britains. Could'nt show frontal view having trouble with my photo suit, couldn't get it less than 107kb, so can only show side view.
Bernard.

No doubt that Britains Band of the Royal Scots is a very nice band. But if I could ever convince you to take that one more step and buy a vintage Britains Band -- like the 2109, Black Watch Pipes and Drums, I think you'd be hooked for good. Who knows, you might even foresake purchasing a cavalry set for a band set! Bernard, you're on your way to becoming a true Britains' collector. And, some people think miracles don't happen.

I think its the kilts that get the lassies talking you know. They prefer that to body hugging stretch cherry red trousers I think. . :) Great set.
Well done.

Hi Bernard,

If you dont already have it you may want to consider the 9th Lancers Mounted Band from the Hollowcast line. I think you may enjoy that one a bit. I keep asking for more mounted bands so maybe we'll get a few more of those some day too.

All the best

Dave

I agree with Dave it is a great set, I think he has it though  I wouldn't mins seeing if I could have a director of music made to complete the set though.

The next mounted set should be the massed household cavalry in ceremonial uniform...........tally ho !! :D

Yo Dick, its not me that needs convincing about #2109, its the dollars in the wallet, plus remember what we were saying, the Old Britains tied in boxes cost so much you dare not take them out to display. The new set like this is easy to display with the foam cut outs in the box.

Yo Damain lol, what are you like. But the jocks are all hairy savages from the north lol, not as refined as us Cavalry Troopers, and with the kilts shows off their hairy legs.

THROUGH MUD AND BLOOD TO GREEN FIELDS BEYOND.

Yo trooper Dave, do have the 9th Lancers mounted band its a nice band, also have the Royal Scots Band Mounted #1720 but its never been out of the box, so it will have to stay in the box, which does spoil it somewhat not being able to display it with the other mounted.
Bernard.

I have had the good fortune to have enjoyed a great number of pipe bands in my collection. Including Old Britains #2109 the BlackWatch Pipe Band.
Ducals The U S AirForce Pipes and Drums.
I displayed the Old Britains BW Pipe Band along with the New Britains B W Pipe band side by side in the same case AWSOME!
Now I just need to aquire the Ol Britains Scotts Guard Pipe Band....
Wish me luck..(and funds?)

Yo Trooper OldCelt, funny you should mention The Pipes & Drums Of The Scots Guards. Lastnight my little fellow was not well gastric problems, so I stayed up all night to keep an eye on him. So Idecided to pass the time going through Vectis past auctions, started way back in 2002, came across the J Miele collection, now that is what you call a collection only got to page 21 and there was set # 1722, when you look at it and the set I showed 40115 there is not much difference except £500.00 and that was 2002, so I can wish you the Irish luck, but the funds cannot help out there lol.
