Britains size Glossy vs Matte (1 Viewer)

Maybe someone can please tell me why the glossy camel troops are smaller then the 24th foot matte. I have started back collecting toy soldiers and noticed the size difference of the two finishes. Will the new Sudan figures be small as the glossy or taller as the matte.

The glossy figures follow the scale size like the older Britains of 54mm and the Matte figures are slightly larger at about 58mm. The new Sudan series will also follow this scale of 58mm. All of the matte offerings actually are in this scale.
