Come on down to the History Store in Chillicothe this weekend. Ken Osen is giving talks on diorama building, sculpting for W.Britains and the War of 1812 in Popular culture throughout the day.

Had a wonderful day today.
Drove to Chillicothe, OH this morning and spent several hours in the beautiful "History Store".
The store is worth a visit for sure, lots of great display cabinets with plenty of great Toy Soldiers present.
Meeting and talking with Ericka and Ken is always a pleasure and I very much enjoyed Ken's slideshow presentations and explanations on terrain building and figure sculpting.
It was great.
Everybody who has a chance to visit a real Toy Soldier store within an acceptable radius of his home, should do so.
No matter how much efforts the mfrs put in their colorful brochures and catalogs, nothing beats the experience of seeing the actual figures eye to eye.
This was my first visit to the History Store, but knowing now that it only takes a 2-hour drive, I sure will be visiting again.
Ken and Ericka will be back there on the 10th of December and if the weather allows it, I will be too.
Thanks for a fun day and I am looking forward to the next visit/meeting.

I absolutely agree, nothing beats watching the figures live. Most of the photos are out of proportion and show overblown details, others look more like paintings... That said the photos at this forum to me are a precious helper (there are some excellent photos that show the figures close to what they are at 54mm or 60mm), many thanks to those who post. For example: these forum photos have made me want to take a «personal look» at the Britains War Along the Nile range...;).

I had a great time as well. Learned a few new diorama tricks and got to pick up a few new items too!
