This set 1470 of King George and Queen Elisabeth which was issued from 1937- 1941 and reissued in 1948. This model shows King George IV holding the Sceptre. The harnessing is die cast and wire clips attaching horses to coach. There is five variations of the coach made. In 1959 the coach has blue panels.

Britain's also made a companion set 1475 called attendants to the state coach which has 18 pieces. The set was made from 1937-1941 and reissued in 1952. The set has eight outriders, six footmen and four yeomen. The rarest coach is the single figure of Edward which gave up the throne to marry an American woman. John

No outriders. I have some loose figures but others did not survive. J

Hi John,

That is a beautiful Britains set! You must be very proud of it. I know I would be. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

That's a great set John, and the condition of it looks fantastic.

Cheers
Simon

Nice set John. My Dad has an original one too, but it is not as nice. I have not seen it since I was a kid.

Very nice John. I had one as a child, but it didn't last long. Thanks for sharing.

Who picked off the state attendants? Around the time I got my new Daisy pump air rifle. Dimestore figures went quickly.:p:cool: John

Re What happened to it?

Well I was a kid... I don't really remember but I must've broke parts of it quickly - like the horses' legs. And then it must have been ignored at the bottom of a cardboard box.

I feel bad saying this because my father must have spent a bit for that coach but I was disappointed. I wanted fighting men: Davey Crocket, Indians, Mounties. The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II meant nothing to me. I didn't even know she existed. But I sure enjoyed all the other Britain's sets and Dinky Toys I received.

Coronation Queen Elizabeth II Set

Can anyone tell me about this William Britain Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Reg'd 459993 Set.
All figures in perfect condition except for 1 soldier missing his sword. The original box is not in perfect condition.
How many were produced? Today's valuation? Collectors?
Thanks

I would contact Norman Joplin.
He is a forum member and will give you the most fair evaluation around.
Dave DM Namiot is also a good guy to contact.
Good luck
That is a great set in good nick

A very neat set, I doubt anyone will know the true amount made, probably a few thousand. I would hazard a guess that this is going to be worth $1000
