Hi there 1st post !

'I'm a collector of Britain's Deetail and have been hunting down the 4 rarer poses of the Deetail Para's with 3 in the bag,I was reading on the web that the more common poses were also made with the more complicated over molding process ,after years of hunting I was starting to believe that this was a myth until last week I got my hands on one.

With everybody looking for the rarer poses are these being overlooked ?

Please see the pics 1 x common Para and one with Green puttees ,rank slides ,buttons on tunic and webbing.

Obviously you do know there are 8 poses in all, 4 being the very common ones and the other 4 selling for $500 - $1000 each!
I collect DEETAIL also (WWII).
The bummer about this set is that there is no one for them to go up against.
BRITAINS should have done 8 poses of IRA?

I'm not sure if I'm reading you right but you can find lots of them on Ebay all the time, also as Royal Marines and SAS.CTA also has the "Missing Poses" in 1/72 sets but they won't release them in 54MM(The #*%!&).Also take the Airfix Modern Germans call them Argentinians and start yomping!!.

This is the 1st standing firing the SLR figure I have found with the extra features that are normally only found on the hard to find rarer poses ?
I agree the common poses are ten a penny and can be easily found.

I'm back again, this time to congratulate you on a very useful observation.
It probably could be categorized as an unofficial "lost pose"

The 1:32 AIRFIX German Paratroopers also have a similar situation where there are 2 different sculpts for the COMMANDER!
One sculpt is taller, with a different shaped base.

Happy hunting.

Welcome to the forum Deetail,
There was a near mint 7 figure box set, including all 4 of the rare poses.
I asked about it on the off chance that they didn't know what they had (fat chance), price was £600
Good luck with the hunt for the remaining pose.

Cheers
Simon

It was a bit like waiting for a bus ,nothing ,then two came along !

You can clearly see the problems with the molding on the second.

The bases on those look mint !

Working on the theory that the rare poses were issued with the standing firing the SLR and Bazooka then we should find Bazooka firing figures with the extra over molding ?

Any body ever seen one ?

Or am I wrong ?

When you think about it now,
when BRITAINS was in trouble it started releasing some of its zany last ditch attempts to find a market,
perhaps they should have done the obvious instead.

The 70's British Paras = WWII British Paratroops

The Kung Fu combo = Afrika Korps Mortar combo

The Space men = more WW II

But I do have a desire to get the Hospital sets and repaint them as a WWII hospital.

Totally agree, could have done so much more.

And gave us more to hunt down.

All this has been covered in DEETAIL (AHAH) in PLASTIC WARRIOR magazine and Peter Coles book 'SUSPENDED ANIMATION'
