Yo Troopers, just got this Frontline James Scarlett this morning lol (WAIT FOR IT) before you go for the long knifes to hack me down about the PLATE, it was a freebie, our Brad (jazzeum) can verify this. Anyway could not believe the weight of it, so have just got the electric scales out and it weighs a massive .350 Kg. The Britains Hussar in the other photo weighs .120 Kg, so at a guess an Old Britains would weigh around .60 Kg. When Frontline made the Heavy Brigade man they meant it lol. On another thread we were discussing the price of metal and prices going up for Toy Soldiers, so think there is a lesson here somewhere dont you think. Having said all this its a nice painted piece amazed how they get the brass buttons in gold on the jacket they are so minute, I wonder if Jeff could get them like that with his Distemper brush :p  :D.
Bernard.

Bernard,
The Frontline mounted figures are very heavy, so much so that some of the charging pieces will eventually keel over on theirs sides due to weight

Yo Trooper, if any of the Troopers fall off the horses put them on a charge, its 10 lashes and two weeks mucking out lol. Dont they have a lug between the legs lol that fits into a hole on the saddle like the Gen James Scarlett model.
Bernard.

Bernard,
It is the horse that falls over from it's own weight , then the troop is either pinned or thrown to the ground. The upper body of the horse is so heavy that it bends the legs at the ankle ( or whatever you call it on a horse) I have a frontline Lancer that requires periodic plumbing up or perhaps it is the nature of Lancers to be slackers and lay-abouts?

Lead free pewter is lighter then white metal containing lead. In this case it's probably a matter of 'less is more'. Unless you like 'em heavy.
