Ken, Richard, et alia,

Will the WBritains Collectors' Club website be updated in February? Possibly with the complete or partial catalogue at the same time as the catalogue is sent out?

Can you tell us what are the plans for the site? I realize everybody is busy and updates are planned but can you tell us what they will be? Obviously a discussion forum, perhaps a private members' area (with goodies for members :) such as discounts on retired items), links to Britains related sites, gallery of all current metal and plastic figures, archive gallery for retired items, contact details of all dealers in UK, USA, Canada, rest of World.

Perhaps complete scanned catalogues since 1984 (or earlier) could eventually be put up. The recent ones in partial form for a specified period, so not to potentially lose Club members.

Thats all for now. you may have some of these ideas in the works, an update would be great!

Good topic.
Britains needs to revised their website it is lame, especially in contrast to KC's website. If Britains wants to promote sales one way is to jazz up their website.

Does anyone know what the new club figures are for 2007?

Benjamin

Hi Guys,

As a club menber I too wrote at length about the website when asked what needed to updated or revamped during the member questionier. They will hopefully see that there are many folks that need the website to be much more interesting. The club figures are a British 93rd Highlander in Gloss that is for the Crimean Series and the other is a French Flank Company Sapper in Matte from the Waterloo series. I will be getting the Crimean Figure since they are an area I am interested in more so than Waterloo. Or you can opt for them both for the cost of 33 bucks with the shipping. They are pretty good looking figures.

Thanks Dave,

I haven't received my membership renewal form. Have you? How did you hear about the Club figures?

Hi Hugh,

I received my forms right before the Holidays. They had a nice one page flyer/reminder about club renewal. Of course I have been so busy that I forgot to renew so i need to do that asap. How long have you been a member?

Dave, Now that I recall, I probably did receive the forms too then . Will check this evening.

I joined when the Club first started in 1993. Any idea how many other Treefrog members are Britains Club members?

Hi Hugh,

I wish I had been paying attention to the toy soldier world in 93 because I was stationed in Germany and actually went to the UK a few times and could have met some of the folks that were doing things with this hobby then as it was I did manage to acquire some really nice sets of other makers while I was there and did enjoy seeing the Scots change of Guard drill in Edinburough not a tattoo but just as fun for me to watch another soldier going through some very complicated Drill. I also managed to see Windsor Castle and some other very nice places when we were running around the country.

As for the number of club members I am sure of only 4 but I suspect there may be an additional 3-5 hidding out who arent as vocal. Hard to speculate on this as I have recommended people join it and I suspect there have been several takers on this but like I said I am only sure of 4 of us.

Have to go off to drop the kids at school and do my chores for the day.

All the best

Dave

Dave,

Good to hear there are some other Britains Club members on the Forum.

Had a long website meeting yesterday with our designer - the collector site is in the works and the club site is also due for an update. I have given time lines before that we have missed so hesitate to give yet another - I know how key this is and how frustrated some folks are. I want this done too. Hang in there and it will get done in the next few months (if not before - we'll see!)

Richard,

Fabulous news! Looking forward to see what your designer comes up with.:)

Hi Richard,

Very glad to hear it will be getting a much needed face lift! Look forward to seeing it develop.

All the best

I also belong to Britains collector club. Leadmen

Leadmen, I've been a member since 1993. Are you collecting vintage or modern? I do both, although I think I need to focus :). Did you have the surprise when they changed membership nos?

I joined the club the last two years when First Gear took over. I collect both glossy and matte figures. Glossy I get the knights, wwl, and redcoat series plus misc. stuff like Henry and his wives. In matte I have Rev War, Civil War and personality figures. Also Indian Army in gloss and some Durbar.
I vary my collection through the years. Old Britains, Trophy, Fusiler and King & Country.I also collect WWll figures and vehicles. All over the board. :D Leadmen
