Well, seeing as this is now public information via the article and images in Toy Soldier Collector Magazine #31, I thought I'd post an image of our upcoming British Cavalry release. NAP0198-NAP0203 British 12th Light Dragoons at Waterloo. Though this isn't the regiment that a lot of you may have been hoping for, we felt it was time to give some coverage to something other than the Scots Greys.

I told those of you who mentioned we haven't added to the British in quite some time that it was their turn again. These should be available for pre-order in late December and shipping sometime in February adding some much needed cavalry to our coverage of the Anglo-Allied Army at Waterloo.

We sincerely hope that you like them!

Best,

Matt

Hi Matt

Excellent choice of British cavalry beautifully sculpted and painted, fantastic quality.

Regards John

Nice figures Matt. If they are number 198-203, that makes for 6 figures. Are all six show in the ad? I am only counting 5 different poses.

Nothing ever gets by you. ;)

No, only five are shown. The sixth figure is a private holding a carbine. Further, we've also made a change since this advert in that one of the privates in the front row is riding the same horse as the trumpeter (though not white of course).

Fantastic figures Matt. Figures unasked for are far better that than what I was hoping for!

Good changes. As to the horse color you mean not "grey" of course, you can tell here by the under color. Most so called white horses are really greys.;):D A grey horse may have hair that is completely "white" but will still have dark or black skin and dark eyes. True white horses have unpigmented pink skin and frequently have light blue eyes and are relatively more rare. Greys are fairly common. For example the well known Lipizzaners are grey (black at birth) and this very white appearing Andalusian is grey.

Funny, ours have a very silvery skin that feels somewhat metallic and then we decorate them in various shades, one of which is white. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Sometimes the real grey undercoat is silver actually but you don't get those darkish lines that appear in your ad photo on whites. Unless that photo is quite off, that one is a grey.;):D:D Not that is matters much, I doubt many collectors know the difference.:D:D

According to what I have read, Napoleon actually did have two "real white" horses that he took with him as part of his stable on Elba. Anyway your grey horse looks very nice indeed.:D

A suprising release, but certainly still welcome. They certainly do look good.

Isn't there a novel or novel series that focuses on light dragoons? I seem to remember someone (probably Bill) refering to it.

Allan Lawrence Mallinson is best known for writing a series of novels chronicling the (fictional) life of Matthew Hervey, an officer serving in the (fictional) British 6th Light Dragoons from the late Napoleonic Wars through subsequent colonial conflicts in India, North America and south Africa.

Matt,
fantastic figures - i much prefer my cavalry walking/trotting - much more regal. Another great thing about your dragoons is that they have the same facing colours as the 19th that fought at chippewa in 1814 - double useage, cool or what. I'm still waiting for the post where you get asked where the guidon bearer is!
Can we have a picture of the highlanders now please?

Yes it was me in the What are You Reading thread. It is indeed the Allan Lawrence Mallinson series which is not Cornwell (few are) but pretty good.

Gorgeous. Here I sit with one FL Sappuer. I have a LOT of catching up to do.

Beautiful figures all.

I doubt many humans know the difference. :D

Know that was funny :D Only thing I noticed was the ER on the banner by the Horses tail that is the ending ER for WARSTEINER and thats what I'm drinking at the moment ;);) Must be from a performance in Deutschland :)

Bill and Jeff,

Thanks to you both for the information. I couldn't remember what the book series was called.

After all the distactions, I thought this belonged back at the top.;) Best not to loose the point of this great announcement. I would like to this these lads engage some French Hussars or Dragoons.;):D
