Whats the reason behind the British Army not having Royal in front of Army like the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines? Does it have something to do with the English Civil War/ Oliver Cromwell?

I think this was discussed before on here last year. I believe it has something to do with some of the regiments already having the royal prefix

such as

Royal electrical mechanical engineers
Royal Scots Dragoon Guards

The "Royal" prefix was an honour given to regiments for distinctive service. Such regiments then adopted dark blue as a facing colour. Obviously troops such as the Guards and Lifeguards were already considered as Royal Household regiments and so had no need to use the prefix. The Royal Navy and Royal Air Force are both considered as single services whereas the Army is a mix of regiments, corps and departments.
